The Open Day on Women, Peace and Security

✅The Open Day on Women, Peace and Security is an important global platform for inclusive dialogue, bringing together women's civil society organizations, local/rural activists, young women peace activists and representatives of the UN to discuss progress made and promote the implementation of the women, peace and security agenda.

✅The 2025 Open Day takes place at a pivotal moment for the global WPS and YPS agendas. While these frameworks have catalyzed important progress, they now face renewed challenges amid rising militarization, shrinking civic space, and backlash against gender equality.

✅The meeting was held within the framework of the project “Women Act for Peace and Local Community Resilience” and was attended by IDP Women Association “Consent” (IDPWA), Charity Humanitarian Women “Sukhumi” (CHWFS) and Women’s Information Center (WIC). The project is financially supported by the UK Government.

✅Marking the 25th Anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, the event also served as reflection on global progress through the lens of the newly published WPS Index. The first session of the event featured the ambassadors of the countries that showed the best results according to the 2025-2026 Index and/or are successfully implementing the Women, Peace and Security agenda.

✅The event also featured the results achieved in the direction of the initiatives implemented in the previous project for local communities, as well as the future perspectives.
