The Association of Internally Displaced Women “Consent” has been working and cooperating with Georgian municipalities including Zugdidi since 1998.
The Association has implemented plenty of projects and continues to work on increasing the involvement of society in the process of localization of NAP on WPS, implementation of public monitoring, increasing human security and promotion of rights of internally displaced women and youth as a result of the conflict.
On the August 11th, 2023 “Consent” opened a Women’s room in Akhalabastumani village of the Zugdidi region.
The Association managed to open the room as a result of local women’s determination and request. The implementation of the initiative of the Women’s Association became possible with the joint efforts of the Zugdidi City Hall and City council.
The main purpose of the Women’s room will be to mobilize IDP and local women, increase their availability towards services and informal education, strengthen their cooperation possibilities with local authorities for community development and reinforcement.
Reconstruction and equipment of the room was organized thanks to the support provided by the German organization “Bread for the World”.
