One of the main priorities of the project “IDP and conflict-affected Women and youth for the implementation of the WPS agenda”

One of the main priorities of the project “IDP and conflict-affected Women and youth for the implementation of the WPS agenda” implemented in partnership with UN Women is to advocate for the needs and support initiatives of internally displaced and conflict-affected women and youth.

The project activities involve internally displaced persons (residing in IDP settlements or collective centers) and women and youth and living in the villages situated alongside the administrative boundary line from 17 target municipalities which are: Mtskheta, Dusheti, Kareli, Gori, Kaspi, Khashuri, Tetritskaro, Gardabani, Tskaltubo, Kujtaisi, Khoni, Sachkhere, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha and Senaki. Also, some activities are planned in Mestia and Oni municipalities.

To conduct the advocacy campaigns planned within the project with the local administrations and councils of these municipalities, the project activities aim to empower women and youth in the target municipalities and help them develop into leaders. Our active women should be able to identify existing or potential problems and challenges, respond appropriately to needs, and advocate for their and their communities' interests at the local government level or with other relevant institutions.

To achieve this goal, the IDP Women's Association "Consent" has conducted trainings for its beneficiary municipalities on the following topics:

• Human Rights: Women’s rights, international and local organizations, and their roles.

• Media Literacy: Disinformation and the use of artificial intelligence.

• Human Security: Monitoring, data collection, and processing.

• Women’s Political Participation: Amendments to Georgia's Election Code, introduction of new electronic technologies in Georgia.
